My name is Emma Sweere. I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2018 with a degree in elementary education. I begin my first year of teaching in Fulton, Missouri teaching 5th grade. About halfway through my first year of teaching, I decided that I wanted to go back to school. So, in January 2019 I began pursuing my Masters of Education in Teaching and Technology. At the end of my first year, I decided to move to Kansas City, Missouri. I now teach English Language Arts to 6th graders in Independence, Missouri.

From this course, I expect to learn many new things about multi media. I would also like to feel more confident about incorporating multimedia into my lessons after this course. I also think it would be very helpful to have an idea of how to create my own multi media’s, so that I can specialize them for my classes, as well as my students.

I love being a student just as much as I love teaching! I was only graduated from my undergrad for 5 months before I decided to go back for my masters. Even after many years of schooling, I felt that something was missing from my life, which I soon discovered was being a student.

When it comes to my personal life, I use technology every single day. I use it to communicate, navigate, work, and so much more. I try to explore new technologies in my personal life as much as possible, to make things easier.
When it comes to my professional life, I try to use technology as much as possible. This year I have started to do my lesson plans completely online, on Google docs. I even have a slideshow that helps me, as well as my students walk through what we are learning for the day. When it comes to using technology with my students, I feel that I could do much better. Since I teach at a middle school level, I only have my students for an hour and a half each day. Sometimes it can be very difficult to get things done with computers out. As of recently, I have been trying to use technology for all of our testing. This helps me a lot with the grading, as multiple choice answers can be graded after students submit.
