At the start of my 10th grade, I put pressure on myself to do well in school. I wanted to have a high GPA and good grades in every class. I wanted to prove myself, not to my parents or teachers. I was very focused, avoided distractions, and tried to stay ahead of assignments. Sometimes I was putting to much on myself, and it got to be too stressful. I just wanted to work myself into knowing i can do it because my parents never finished high school.

One project that I'm proud of is a business project that we did in my speech class, where we had to create our own product and then present it as if we were on Shark Tank. I created a business plan for a bakery called mays treats, a bakery that treats and cookies. I made a slideshow with cute graphics, a logo, and even a menu. I also made a budget and explained how the bakery would make money. I explained it well can got a good grade. My friends thought it was so cool idea, and that my teacher said it was one of the best explained projects.

I read Ernest Hemingway's Hills Like White Elephants, and it put me in shock. It just looked like nothing was happening at first, just a guy and a girl just sitting around at a train station, and then, the more I read, I realized how deep it actually is. How they talk about the real issue which is something serious like abortion and made me feel sad because it something so intimate. The girl, Jig, just seems so lost, and the man is trying to be cool, but you know he's making her to do something she doesn't know if she should.

challenge

Managing high school, college classes, and softball was the most challenging thing of my life. At first, it was challenging to be at practices, homework, and tests. I fixed this by creating a schedule, putting work in order of its importance, and talking to my teachers and coaches about my schedule. I learned to balance my time, stay organized, and push through difficult times. It helped grow academically and as an individual.

This song inspired me because it shows that even when it seems like you have it all, struggles can still be very real. It’s a reminder of the importance of support and mental health, and that it’s okay to have help from others

junior year

Junior year is a fresh start, but also kind of scary. I hope to figure things out and keep up, and get a sense of what I actually want to do in high school. It will be weird that my sister will no longer be there, she's always been somebody I turn to. Without her, school will definitely not be as crowded. But I'm trying to keep things positive and open-minded.
Billie Eilish sings in "my future":
“I’m in love with my future, can’t wait to meet her.”
That line reminds me that even though things are changing, I’m becoming someone new.
