Men have higher rates on non-educated people, however, the rates for men and women have declined by 2.1% and 1.5%. This could imply that the average rate of educated people has risen due to the upward levelling of the quality of life. Also, men used to have a better rate on having a degree-level qualification in 2008, however flipped over in 2013.

2. In the UK, men are double the rate of occupations in a manager, director or senior officer compared to women. The employment rate for women in the UK was 69.7% while those for men was 75.9% in 2013. Although the gap narrowed compared to 2008, that is due to a decline on the men's employment rate. It indiates that still gender inequality exists in hiring employees.

3. Since women have a lower tendency to be obese and a heavy drinker compared to men, women have higher lifespan on average. For crime, women tend towards the preys of rape or domestic crime, whereas men towards the injured party of murder or the crime of violence.

4. Yes. The report demonstrates the narrowing gap between men and women in education and workplace, and the improvements on the women's status in society compared to the past. In Korea, although there has been much efforts to ease the inequality such as guaranteeing gender equality from the constitution, the vestige of the inferiority of women still exists in society such as in workplace or at home due to the old system. For instance, Korea has been ranked at the bottom in the glass-ceiling index for 9 years among the OECD countries. Furthermore, 72% of women working in the ICT industry said that a glass-ceiling exists in the companies.

Britain is now largely a fair society, as opposition to jobs for minority bosses and aversion to interracial marriage have diminished. Gone, too, are rigid ideas about the roles men and women should play in the home. In addition, the biggest change is the change in people's attitude to homosexuality.

Men are more likely to be picked to work in skilled trades while women are working in administrative and secretarial roles, caring,  leisure and other services. Gender inequality can be seen where women are known to be caring and take jobs that does not require thinking while men are made to be a strategists.


3Women have a longer average life according to the expectancy life，but the gap is narrowing now which may because men have a more worse diet and lifestyle.

Women are more likely to be the victim of rape or domestic violence,while men are more likely to be the victim of violent crime and homicide.It may because men is more stonger and unreasonable than women.

4Yeah，Women are increasingly recognized for their ability in all areas.

In China there is no doubt that the society is more fairer now.It is normal that women protect their rights by using social plantform,which really works.

3.Around 32% of councillors in England were women in 2013. In Scotland in 2007, 21.8% of councillors were women, rising slightly to 24.3% in 2012.

4.Yes, I think the UK is a fairer society now than it was in the past. Because the figures show that women in the UK are educated, women are getting jobs, the Equality Act 2010, there are 32.4 million women in employment, education and other services provided.

girls do better than boys on average and the percentage of women who had a degree of higher-level education has grown drastically between 2008 and 2013 from 20.5% to 28.4% and this can be a result of the increasing amount of people receiving education has grown.

 
2. What is the ratio of men and women in managerial roles? What does it tell us about gender inequality?




 Across Britain, men are almost twice as likely to be a manager, director or senior official than women. In 2011, the Government set a voluntary target for the UK’s largest public companies (FTSE 100) to increase the percentage of board positions held by women to 25% by 2015. In July 2015 this target was met. However, women on boards are still under-represented in both non-executive and especially executive directorships 


3. What is the impact of gender on life expectancy?  How  gender plays a role in terms of crime? How could you explain these data?


Women live on average 10 years longer than men.

Women are more likely to be sexually assaulted than men.
The first data is from the news, the second data is based on facts and crime cases.


4. Do you think Britain is now a fairer society compared to the past? What is your observation about your own society? 

Britain is fairer than in the past. Since the industrial Revolution, the status of women has begun to rise, and women's rights have been constantly improved and guaranteed. Therefore, there are still inequalities between men and women in employment in Britain, but in most aspects, people accept the idea of equality between men and women.


In China during the period of the republic of China, the government will advocate the equality between men and women, after the founding of new China, there are still serious folk patriarchal thought, but with the development of the society, patriarchal ideology has been gradually abandoned, government advocated the equality between men and women constantly in all fields, including employment, to go to school, as well as the election, now, Chinese women have a very high position, Moreover, Chinese law is more biased towards women to protect women's rights.
