Assalamualaikum, Hi! Im going to share with you through out my journey joing the usrah class. I joined the Usrah 1 class in Week 3 of the semester due to a late subject registration. Although I missed the initial sessions, I made the effort to revise the earlier topics using materials shared by our instructor, Sister Intan Nuraliyya, on Microsoft Teams. Throughout these six weeks, the Usrah sessions have provided me with more than just academic input—they’ve offered valuable reminders about faith, character, and community. From lectures to group presentations and interactive discussions, this Usrah has become a space of both knowledge and spiritual nourishment. This portfolio is a reflection of my learning and personal insights from Weeks 1 to 6.

This week’s topic focused on two core areas: the Qur’an as a divine guide and the etiquette (adab) of seeking knowledge.

1. Al-Qur’an as the Book of Guidance:
- The Qur’an is the literal word of Allah SWT revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW as a comprehensive guide for all aspects of life.
- “This is the Book! There is no doubt about it—a guide for those mindful of Allah.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 2)
- First revelation: Surah Al-‘Alaq (96:1–5); Second: Surah Al-Muddaththir.
- Reciting and living by the Qur’an leads to spiritual and physical well-being.

2. Adab in Seeking Knowledge:
- Three important elements: Niyyah (intention), Practice, and Sharing.
- Hadith of Jibril mentioned for its respectful approach to gaining knowledge.
- Knowledge should be pursued sincerely for Allah’s pleasure, acted upon, and shared for benefit.

Joining this Usrah class, even though it was a little late, has been one of the most meaningful parts of my semester. Even though in the past I already have learnt how deeply Islam encourages us to balance knowledge with action, to develop good character, and to constantly remember Allah in all aspects of life, however these topics were talked about it gave me a reminder and that's what the usrah is about.

The group activities and peer sharing opened my eyes to diverse perspectives and helped me connect with others on a spiritual level.

My wish moving forward is to continue seeking beneficial knowledge and to apply it sincerely in my daily life. I also hope to nurture my relationship with Allah SWT and to remain surrounded by positive, supportive company that motivates me to grow. May this Usrah be the start of many more meaningful steps in my journey as a Muslim.

Acquisition of Hikmah from Ibadah

I love this topic because it focused on how to gain hikmah, not just what it is. The point about setting the right niyyah (intention) really made me reflect on myself. Sometimes I rush my ibadah without thinking about my heart. This topic reminded me that sincerity is the foundation of everything. If I do something for praise or habit, it’s empty.
The concept of Ihsan touched me the most: worshipping Allah as if I see Him. If I can apply this in my Salah and daily actions, I think it will change how I live. I also learned that practicing the right amal (actions) and seeking knowledge are keys to getting closer to Allah. For me, the biggest lesson is that ibadah should transform me from the inside, not just look good on the outside. I want to try to improve my focus in Salah and always check my intentions before doing anything.

Reasons and Sources of Hikmah from Ibadah

This topic opened my eyes to the deeper meaning behind every act of worship. I used to think of Salah, Sawm, Zakah, and Hajj as separate rituals, but now I see that they all share one goal – to build a better character and stronger relationship with Allah. The ayah from Surah Al-Ankabut about prayer stopping us from immorality really touched me because it made me reflect: is my prayer really helping me stay away from sins?
The part about fasting teaching self-control was also a big reminder. It’s not just about not eating; it’s about purifying the heart. I also realized that giving Zakah is not just helping others, but cleansing my own soul from greed. Lastly, Hajj showed me how important humility and equality are in Islam. Overall, this topic made me appreciate ibadah as a complete system that brings discipline, kindness, and taqwa into our lives.

During the activity, I realized how hard it is when you can’t communicate easily, but with patience, we managed to complete the task. It reminded me that life will always have challenges, and being patient makes us stronger and closer to Allah.

What is Amanah?

Meaning: Trust, responsibility, honesty.

Importance: Foundation of harmony, honesty, accountability.

Quran: Surah Al-Anfal: 27 – “O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence].”

Roles of Amanah:

1. In Personal Life – Be honest, keep promises, control your words, stay committed to self-improvement.

2. In Family & Relationships – Fulfill duties as parents, children, siblings with honesty and love.

3. Work & Study (My Part)

Do tasks with sincerity and without corruption.

Complete assignments honestly (avoid plagiarism).

Be responsible in group work.

Leads to productivity and trust.

4. Society & Ummah – Be fair and trustworthy, protect public property, act with honesty.

Activity in Class:

Our group prepared a Kahoot game to make the session more interactive. It was so fun and funny because some of the questions were random, like “What is the full name of our Sister Yukkie?” Everyone laughed and enjoyed it while also learning about Amanah in daily life.

My Reflection:

This topic was meaningful because Amanah is a big responsibility in Islam, not only to people but also to Allah. When preparing for my part (Work and Study), I realized how important it is to be honest and responsible in assignments and group projects. The Kahoot game showed me that learning can be fun and still give a good message. It also reminded me that small actions like not cheating or copying are part of Amanah too.
