I think the message that the author is trying to convey the reader is that, humans can learn many new things from their pets that they didn’t already know. I think this because in the text it sates, “ Whatever my purpose in going to Yellowstone, I’m glad I went because I discovered something about Charley I might never have know.” This shows that John discovered something that he didn’t know about his pet, Charley.

I think the message is that don’t always think before you see I say this because when he told the ranger there would be no problem with the bears after when he went in the place charley turned into a maniac about the bears and he got emotionally exhausted.

I think that the message the author was trying to convey was even if we think we know someone we stil don’t until they show us all there sides of them. On page 147 it says “I wonder why we think the thoughts and emotions of animals are simple.”

The message of the story Travels with Charley: In search of America is don’t doubt animals with their actions. In Chunk 2 it says “this is a dog of peace and tranquillity” and John underestimated Charley because in Chunk 5 it says that “that dog has the heart and soul of a bear killer and I didn’t know it.” That proves that the message is don’t doubt animals with their actions because John didn’t know that Charley had that in him to try to kill a bear.

The author is trying to say that animals can change there way. In the text it claims that Charley ackted difrent when the bears 🐻 showed up.

Based on my reading of "Travels with Charley : In Search of America I think one message could be you do always now something until you experience it I thought that this is a good message because John Steinbeck did not know how Charley would react until he did.In the text it claims "..."

The message, in my opinion, is not to think that animals are “simple”. Nothing, no one, is simple. Like Charley, for example. He is an angelic kind of dog. But when he sees bears, he is SUPER different. He acts like a bear killing machine. John thought that he would be angelic forever. Oh, was he wrong. Just make sure to live somewhere without bears :

Based on the reading of travels with charley in search of America I think that the message that the author is trying to convey is that what our think is not always true. In the text it says it says “And I owe you a apology. That dog has the heart and soul of a bear killer .”

The message is always think before you say because in the text John said that his dog Charley was peaceful and wouldn’t make an impact on the bear world but he did not think before he said so Charley was a manic and he did not know

The messages the author is trying to convey is that just because someone acts the way they do doesn’t mean they could changed. In chunk 2 it says, “Sir,” I said, “this is a unique dog. He does not live by tooth or fang he respects the right of cats to be cats although he doesn’t admire them.” This shows that John thought Charley wouldn’t harm anyone or anything. In chunk 3 it said, “He screeched insults at the bear, which hearing, the bear reared up and seemed to me to overtop Rocinante.” This shows that Charley was being aggressive to the bear and John didn’t expect that to happen.

The message the author is trying to convey to us is that animals can always be unpredictable. In the text, Charley surprised John by raging at a bear much bigger than him. This shows that John could not predict Charley’s next move, that was raging at a bear.

The message that the author sends is that thoughts and emotions aren’t never simple, I can support this because in page.147 chunk.6 it’s says “ I wonder why we think the thoughts and emotions of animals are simple,” but this also refers to people.

The message the author is trying to convey the reader is when you think you know every thing about your animal it might not be true. For example, when John took charley to the national park the guy warned John that charley was only allowed on a leash to go in the park but John said “ sir this is a unique dog. He does not live by tooth or a fang. He respects the rights of cats to be cats although he doesn’t admire them”. Also John said “ his greatest fear is that someone will point out a rabbit and suggest that he chase it”.

I think that the message that the author was trying to convey is that everybody changes. I think this because Charley is not always going to be a good and calm dog 🐶 forever and since Charley acted like a manic when he saw a bear 🐻 he changed .
