The third announcement at 9:15 AM affirms the fact this is a super futuristic house that even has robot mice to do all the chores. The fourth announcement at 9:05 PM presents the reader with a poem that explains the events prior to the events of the story. Bradbury elaborates on this idea of self-preservation when the house attempts to extinguish the fire, even going so far as to make the house yell "Fire, fire, fire!" as if the house is a person that is trapped in a burning building. These examples of personification give human charactics to the house. "As the house realized' gives the house a brain and the human charactic to realize. "A second voice from the kitchen ceiling" gives the house the human charactic of speaking.
