so lets say, miss gives us the number 5,781,623 and gives us the task to identify the ascending number and descending numbers. so first i will gather all of the 1's in the number then all of the 2's, then the 3's all the way up to 10, once i get to 10 i will have the answer to the ascending numbers which in this case is 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8. and to get the descending numbers i can just flip the order around, so the answer for that would be: 8, 7, 6, 5, 3, 2 and 1. so that is how i would identify the ascending and descending numbers.

the rules for ascending and descending you always need to check the place value, check if its smaller or greater for example we have: 9569, 321, 7689, 10000. Now we need to place it from ascending to descending (smaller to bigger) so we'll first check the digits and the place value one will have greater value than the other. Here is my answer: 321, 7689, 9569, 10000. 321 has the lowest digits while others have 5 or 4, 7689 has the same digits as 9569 but its place value is lower than 9569 and 10000 has greater digits than all of them making it the largest number possible here.
Zara
