When they reached Guam, an island, they were starving because they had underestimated the width of the Pacific Ocean. Natives on the island ended up killing Magellan, forcing another sailor, Sebastian del Cano, to take charge and finish the voyage. He completed the first navigation around the world and returned to Spain three years later.  </div>]]></description>
