I would like to talk about the "Tea Party" video because I love watching historical videos of the British Royal Family. It is so interesting. I gained something new from that presentation. Even though it is just drinking tea, people should implement the right ways (manners) to drink it.  In addition, I noticed that the Tea Party was a tradition for only British Royal Family and noble people back then. But right now, people can do the Tea Party for business purposes.

I'm Santiawan (2012021029) and I have a thought about tea party. Actually, I never heard term of "tea party", but instead I know the term of "tea time" / "afternoon tea". Let's focus on tea party. It seems the royal family highly respect the precence of tea in UK, as well as their people. What I am thinking right now is (1) whenever British people doing meeting at their workplace, they will have a cup of tea in place. Is it right? I think that the meeting is also considered as tea party, as they gather in same place and have their own tea. Or, (2) the meaning of tea party in workplace is the employee do their afternoon tea together in their break time?

For my topic, I am curious on how foreign people tend to work faster than our people. Of course I know the term "time is money", but majority of Indonesians tend to work "slow but sure" - even this term is going to be abandoned. I had heard joke that Indonesians are careless (ceroboh) if they work in rush. So that they tend to work slowly to make everything go round. 1. About tea party, yes the new one that i have learned are about we can't put the hands on the table and we shouldn't left the spoon in the glass. I have a questions about that, why we can't put the hands on the table?
2. Yes the second culture that i have learned is about British Women Dress Code. I have one thing I want to know about the philosophy of British women using hats as a dress code?
3. The next material that I can learn is the importance of how to use a tie correctly, using a tie that is not right will affect the person we are talking to. If the use of the tie is correct, then someone we are meeting at a business event will be more reluctant towards us and we will also look more authoritative in front of our business partners.
4. I do agree with you because sometimes I do that hehe. But, I think, we cannot take that as a good example in some ways. For example, Japanese people are really on time when attending a meeting or going to work. They also don't mind queuing. Therefore, we can apply that great example in our life because being on time shows professionalism.

The interesting thing that I just found out through this video is that when dining in India, people in India always use their right hand. Even if they are lefty, they have to use their right hand to eat because Indians consider the use of the left hand unclean and offensive. and I'm also interested in the mahotama presentation about "how to eat in various cultures" maybe because can't hear clearly, because I only know a few ways to eat such as using a hand, using a spoon, but from my experience, there are also some who have rules like eating "meatballs in formal events" that's all.

And I am also interested in the topic that my friend Philemon brought in the video presentation, in the video ,Philemon gives which clothes are not allowed and allowed to be used "British Royal Women's Dress Code" one is very interested in "Not wearing wedges" and "prohibition of wearing mini" skirts" and I think when we wear mini skirts we look impolite and graceful.

However, allow me to give some comments and feedback regarding Madhu Sri Devi's presentation. After watching her video I realized that every country has its own typical and culture in work ethic. As Madhu explains in the video that in Venezuela people react late as a polite trait but people in general especially people from very polite countries will think being late is something rude and unprofessional. So through videos from Madhu, I learned that not in every country being late is something disgusting and rude but it will depend on their habits to react to this. But we also can't generalize every soul in that country because in my opinion, it's only the majority, while everyone has their own personal opinion about this phenomenon. I would like to share my comment on our assignment "Work Ethic and Cross Cultural Understanding". After watching presentation videos of all the classmates, overall we have an interesting, informative and unique contents in the videos presentation for work ethic and cross cultural understanding. I think that cross cultural understanding really bring such an significant change of our points of view, especially in business. When we apply for a job or seeking a new job, we need to improve our knowledge and skills in working based on the field of business and professionalism.

The point from the presentations from friends that I get is that we need to understand how work culture around us. Work culture, manners, these are things that are often underestimated by others, when in fact these things can support whether the worker is a professional or not. For example if we work in American Culture, it is better if we follow the way how to dress up when we are going to work. In addition, when we understand the work culture, it will improve our performance as employees by making them more productive, so that the company's vision and mission can be realized and be able to face all challenges in the future.
