Surrounded but all alone.
You know they're there but they can't hear you.
Screaming, crying and begging to be seen.
You can't choose your family.
I suffer in silence because no one listens.
My father left years ago. And my Mother? Well...No matter how hard I try to be heard, I'm told its all a cry for attention.
My brother has no time to talk, engulfed in his studies.
I'm longing to be understood.
I'm alone, even though everyone's there.
Drowning in my sea of emotions.
Family is meant to support you and give you love when you need it most. Hold you, protect you, wipe away your tears and tell you its going to be okay.
But I guess, its not completely true.
In my case anyway.

Even though I wrote the monologue before the lesson started as a last resort after a song fell through, I feel that I did okay when delivering my monologue seeing as It was the first time I had read it aloud to anyone else.

Because I was reading from my notebook, the level of emotion in the monologue was the same throughout.

I need to be able to vary the emotion being used when performing it so I can create an impact on the audience and draw them in to what I'm trying to tell them.

I also need to learn it by heart so I can focus on where to put more or less emotion into it so it creates a more effective scene to the audience watching. This will also be handy for when we put it in order so it can be done as smoothly as possible.

I feel that for the time I had to write it and learn it, I was able to memorise some of the monologue so I could engage with the audience. I also feel that my projection and articulation was good and that I talked clearly so my audience could hear what I was saying.

I also managed to put some emotion into the monologue in order to engage my audience. I was also able to manage most of my nerves when talking to the audience.

As explained in my feedback, I need to memorise the monologue so I'm not reading off paper and I can deliver my monologue clearly to my audience. It also saves time when we are putting the whole piece together next week.

I also need to vary the emotion in my monologue as some bits need more emphasis than others do. This needs to be done so I can engage my audience and draw them into what I am trying to tell them.

1. Memorise my monologue for Tuesday next week.

2. Read through and decide which lines need more emphasis and emotion than others do.

3. Become more confident when talking to the audience by practicing with someone else.

4. Maybe think of some actions I can do when performing my monologue instead of just standing there as its makes a more effective performance.
