And the son's love, hate, and then love for his mother's constructions is key in understanding his pain. We may hate x and x about our heritage that makes us different when growing more socialized in society but by the time we are much older and wiser we realize its what made us special, and by that time for the son in "The Paper Menagerie", it was far too late.
