         <description><![CDATA[<div>The&nbsp;study takes place in Salinas, Puerto Rico. The problem was that during 2015 the country was hit with a severe year-long drought, and it was even worse as water levels were decreasing for over 20 years. The solution ended up being a canal that transports the water to the Salinas area where it would be used to recharge and restore the aquifer as well as store water. This mitigation plan is still in use to this day and is hoping to provide for the rest of Puerto Rico as well as the US Virgin Islands. One question that still remains with about the Case Study is if they would rather take one of the more expensive approaches as they've saved money with this cheaper alternative, or would they rather keep their already successful product until it is too outdated.</div>]]></description>
