I have been using StoryboardThat.com to have my students create comic strips for a few years now, and I always had them complete it in the library and print it out for me to hand grade. This year, I had them take a screenshot of their finished comic strip and submit it on Google classroom. It was so easy for the students to do, and even easier for me to grade it directly on the computer and give immediate feedback.

We are using Google Docs in Honors English 2 to have the students complete timed, in-class group essays. This is part of a larger writing process that encourages students to think more quickly about essay prompts, to find quality text evidence, and to provide corresponding insightful commentary to improve their critical thinking skills. Google Docs makes the group essay much easier than other methods, and it allows me to see what each group member has contributed to the essay.
