The Pacer Center is an organization created by parents of students with disabilities to help other parents and families with access to resources, trainings, and assistance. I picked this resource because I have never heard of this organization before and I loved the idea that it was an organization that works through the lens of a parent, as opposed to a professional.

I love that PACER Center is working on addressing issues on a global level by translating their programs into a wide variety of languages. This ensures that all individuals have access to these resources, not just those who can speak the language.
Not only do they have resources for students in school and parents struggling to understand the special education system, but this center assists with transitions from school into the real world.
It's clear that having a child with a disability has a lasting impact on the family in many ways. This center is an excellent system of support for those families.

This is a short videoclip that interviews three seperate parents/families dealing with a child with a learning disability. Each interview discusses some of the challenges and triumphs they have as a family. LearningALLY is an audiobook tool that helps students dealing with dyslexia. I found that one of the common threads in each interview was the frustration that both the parent and child were having. Each one struggled academically, and without the extra help, they spent a considerable amount of time stressed out, fighting, and angry with one another. Once they had the extra help, they were able to "take a step back and just love eachother". I must admit, it tugged at my heartstrings a bit to watch these interviews. My little brother struggles with ADHD and I have seen the frustrations first hand. He tries so hard but it's a constant struggle sit down and focus. It's not that he doesn't want to, he just has a very hard time doing so. I genuinely feel for those families who struggle with learning disabilities.
