The way poets create pictures with words to engage the readers are using figurative language. They create pictures this way because when they use figurative language the poet gives you a picture and you can see it. Also when they physically describe what they are talking about and how it’s supposed to look. Its really amazing when you are able to feel the poet’s mood and tone that they are trying to perceive. When you know what the image is supposed to look like and you genuinely have a good idea about it, and know what's going on in the poem that's how the poet creates it. With his words. When he/she explains it so clearly but so subtly. How the poet engages the reader's heart and mind is a totally different concept. If the poet engages your heart and your mind then you’ve made an emotional connection. Its really important that you understand emotionally whats going on in the poem. And you understand the deeper meaning of it. It’s really important you know how to understand the meaning of the poem and how to determine the deeper meaning so you can fully determine what it means and the theme of the poem itself.

Our theme is motivation. We chose this theme because the theme is very uplifting and encouraging. In Still I Rise, the theme is about a woman who has been put down, but she still rises. In A rose That Grew From Concrete, the theme is about a flower who proved everyone wrong about what it was capable. In Mother to Son, it is about a mother who had a rough life, but she kept climbing and trying to make it the best. In the Romeo and Juliet monologue, Romeo is explaining all of the great qualities of Juliet, and he is uplifting her. In the song, Hall of Fame, the author is telling you that you can be the greatest and best. All of the themes are very uplifting and encouraging. I like this project because I got to explore a variety of different poems. It taught me a lot about different poems and how to create my own. I would not change anything about this project.
