         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think too often in schools, the only time BIPOC people are in the curriculum is in moments of trauma and oppression (ex slavery, colonization, etc).  Abolitionist teaching doesn't hide the truths and pains of history, but it is purposeful in its inclusion of joy, celebration, and reverence for the amazingness of historically oppressed groups.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To me, it means not replicating problematic things that do exist in the real world just to prepare kids for them. For example, the world is sexist/homophobic/racist, but I think it's better to try and lift our school community away from those things rather than tell kids experiecing bullying/homophobia that "that's just how it is, you need to toughen up" etc. </div>]]></description>
