         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Using Undercover Boss is a great tool for discussion. &nbsp;<br>- Create their own "case studies" from their own work experience.&nbsp; Students could then role play correct and incorrect ways to handle the situations.<br>- Look at different customer service models of businesses (Chik-fil-a, Disney) and analyze why they work so well.<br>- have students describe an ideal customer service experience.<br>- work on ways to better understand communication at the work place.&nbsp; How do you learn to handle criticism? &nbsp;<br>- Analyze student examples of confusing situations at the workplace (how do you handle these best?)<br>- Discuss/Analyze when best to use verbal and when best to use written communication.&nbsp;<br>- nice area to work in harassment review discussion.&nbsp;<br>- for workplace relationships- create a visual line from ok to wildly inappropriate&nbsp; and have students place situations on the line. &nbsp;<br>- go through different jobs and brainstorm what would be situations severe&nbsp;enough to get fired. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A good place to start is reflecting upon your own attitude as a teacher when you enter the classroom.&nbsp; Be a positive role model.&nbsp; As a teacher, be consistent in your own behavior.<br><br>Emphasize the fact that as a professional worker, find a way to leave personal problems out of work and leave work behind when you end the day.&nbsp; Check the attitude at the door.<br><br>Turn the classroom setting into a workplace setting.&nbsp; Give them a list of roles and expectations in the classroom.&nbsp; Emphasis on communication.  Set ground rules for what is not allowed in the classroom and what the consequences would be for behavior that does not comply with ground rules.&nbsp; Would help with transition to the workplace.<br><br>Address the issue of how students handle stress.&nbsp; What does a well-rounded life look like?&nbsp; What do they do to engage with life? &nbsp;Stress management assessment and methods for handling stress.<br><br>Real life examples of displaying integrity in the classroom by the teacher and describing the story behind the decision.<br><br>Choice is a critical skill to teach.&nbsp; Decision making based upon fact, perspective, and research.&nbsp; We do have the choice to change.&nbsp; Self reflection skills to help determine what is next in the person's life?&nbsp; What no longer serves you and how can you make a change into a conducive work environment. &nbsp;<br><br>Incorporate career lattice and exposure to various workplaces. &nbsp;<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
