I think The navigation technology was not strong so I see they were anxious about how they were going to pass the sea but I wonder they used to have various navigational too that l helped them put the ship on course and they used nots to measure the speed of the boats

I think :
the Europeans needed a new sea route. But to cross the ocean they would need better ships and strong navigational devices. The sailors needed to keep track of their location so they relied on the sky. In the day the sailors would plot the sun by its movements. I see :
Ship pilots needed navigational tools to help keep their ship on course. So the pilots used a tool called astrolabe. I am sure that the article used the words latitude and speed. I said that because we are starting to learn about latitude and longitude in maps. And for speed we are learning about speed distance and time. I wonder :
what other tools did the ship pilots use other than astrolabe.
