Floods are one of the most dangerous natural disasters. This occurs when excessive water is collected in any area. It is usually caused by heavy rainfall. Many people and animals lose their lives due to floods. Many others are injured. Floods also increase diseases. Stagnant water attracts mosquitoes due to malaria, dengue, and more diseases. Floods also cause damage to flora and fauna. They damage crops and displace trees. Thus, measures should be taken to avoid these serious consequences.

Climate change is a long-term change in the average weather patterns that have come to define Earth’s local, regional and global climates. These changes have a broad range of observed effects that are synonymous with the term. One of the most immediate and obvious effects of global warming is the increase in temperatures around the world. The average global temperature has increased by about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degrees Celsius) over the past 100 years, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Global temperatures have increased since the 1800s with models predicting their continued rise, and sea ice has been decreasing in extent and thickness. By 2040, Arctic sea ice may disappear altogether during summer months. The loss of sea ice affects polar bears’ ability to find food. Polar bears feed on ringed seals that live at the ice edge, getting two thirds of the energy they need for the entire year in late spring and early summer. With the ice retreating earlier in spring and forming later in winter, the bears have less time to hunt prey and have to go without food for longer. So Polar bears are starving for global warming.
