         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Harlem Renaissance was a period in the 1920s that took place in Harlem. Harlem was a center of culture for African Americans. Many black writers, artists, musicians, photographers, poets, and scholars were drawn to Harlem. Langston Hughes was one of the most powerful African American literary voice. He was one of the many people who were a main part of this time period. </div>]]></description>

It gave many African Americans to move from the South and start a new beginning in the form of their culture. Many African Americans put their pain and emotions from their past to connect and write jazz. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This period in time became part of history, because it was a huge deal for African American cultutre. Most African Americans were given low paying jobs in the North and South and they were not treated right. The renaissance gave them a way to express themselves through jazz, art, and stories. It also gave them a voice.</div>]]></description>
