However, she is still the Final Girl. She is a Final Girl because she is the main character, or at least the person focused on for most of the movie (so far, I haven't seen the entire thing). Marion does not fall into the typical "Final Girl" rules. She has sex (or at least plans to do it), she steals a very large amount of money, and says "I'll be right back," when leaving her job at the bank. Her role as Final Girl has inspired future FG's through her interaction with Norman Bates. Foreshadowing plays a big role in Countdown, starting even from the very first scene, where the characters at the party all download a sketchy app called Countdown, and Courtney finds out she has three hours to live. Creepy music plays as she walks home by herself, and is followed by someone odd looking, with no face, and blurred out by the camera, which brings us to the third element of horror. Camera elements make the scene of paranoid Courtney in the bathroom even scarier. The camera moves back and forth between her and the shower, driving up the suspense of someone being in there, while her background is out of focus, making the audience think there could be someone (or something) behind her as well. She's also the one who survives the longest (besides the side characters that we barely see). Quinn breaks the FG rules by drinking at a bar with Matt (where they discuss their similar experiences with the Countdown app). I don't know if I would necessarily say Quinn is my favorite FG (since this is the third horror movie I've seen (out of 3)) but I really like her confidence and determination, even when she finds out she has a day to live. Some of those being the eerie movements and the music. Morbius exhibits strange, quick movements once he's a vampire, similar to Nosferatu and his servants. The music changes tones throughout the movie, but one of the biggest parts where the music comes into play is when the FBI comes onto the ship.
