I have taken the 16 personalities quiz over the course of quarantine and it is very fascinating to see how much I've changed. To add on, when looking at other people's personality types, it was kind of surprising to see how a majority of us are extroverts, rather than introverts. Overall, I really liked this activity and it was fun getting to know a little bit more about others.

The creation of this archetypal categorization was spurred by Carl Gustav Jung- father of analytical psychology. However, it's quite obvious that these traits are not absolute- humans are a unique creature with myriad ideologies, and 16 categories undermine the individuality that our species expresses. Personally, though they do improve general understanding of a part of the populous, personality types are a hindrance to our society. Yes, they are indeed a fun thought, being able to define oneself as part of a collective is reassuring to some. However, because personalities can and will change through the passage of time, it is nearly impossible to clearly state the thought process of an entire human being. Boiling the complex human thought structure into a simplistic category forces people to believe that they are absolute. This is not the case, but because of the popularity instilled into this misconception, the majority of people are often inclined to box themselves into what society defines as a "personality". The 16 personalities limit human uniqueness, and as such, limit the populous' way of thought.
