Use the structure described below to write a 300-400 word review.
Remember, use appositives and adjective clauses to add description. This will form a part of your writing folio and you will receive a grade from your teacher which will count towards your participation grade.

Before Writing

  1. Choose an album that you would like to write about. The artist can be be from your home country or anywhere else. If the artist is from your own country, they should have at least 3 songs sung in English.
  2. If possible, the album on Spotify or YouTube and make sure you provide a link so your teacher can listen to the songs!

Structure

  1. Name the artist and the album. Include the year of release and the name of the record label.  
  2. Include some background information about the artist 
  • Where is he/she from?
  • Is this their debut album? If not, refer to their previous work.
  • How does this record differ from previous work?
  • Who produced the record? Are there any interesting facts about the production of this record? Is there a backstory to the making of this album?
  • How does this record fit in to the wider context of pop culture or society in general?
3. Explain why you think that it is a good album.
4. Explain the characteristics of the album overall: what are its special features?
5. Provide an analysis(study) of each of the tracks(songs).
Try to use vivid(descriptive/clear) language in appositives and adjective clauses.
