• Wash plastic and aluminium things before throwing it.

• Check the garbage schedule that is on the kitchen wall to know what to put in the big bin in front of the front door each night.

• In the morning bring the big bin inside the back entrance and wash it if it's dirty.

• If there are leftovers in the fridge use it for the next meal to reduce food waste and be more sustainable. Be sure to put leftovers in the fridge to keep it in the best way.

• When you see something is going to finish in the storage room or in the fridge (for example only 3/4 packs of bread) please tell to the coordinators so they can refill.

• After breakfast, lunch or dinner, make sure all the opened packages are properly sealed, fresh food is put back in the refrigerator, and the table is clean. This will help prevent the ants from coming.

• Respect the cleaning schedule previously agreed with the rest of the group to mantain a clean house to live in.

• If you have washed your clothes and put them out to dry check them to see if they are dry, so that you can make space for the clothes of the rest of the group.

• What to do during "general cleaning of the house" (3 days per week):

  • check that everything is in order in the kitchen and in the living room if not put things in the right place

  • sweep and mop the floor of the whole house (generally every participants will clean a different room which are: kitchen, living room, boys room, girls room, bathrooms and storage room)

  • wash the toilets, sinks, mirrors and showers and don't worget to throw trash from little bins that are in the bathrooms.

    
    

• Greet visitors with smile

• Promote the City Tour to the visitors and explain who you are/what's the project

• Keep a register with number of visitors per hour / country of origin

• Do a walk around of the building at least every 30 minutes

• Read the information about the palace and whenever possible give some info about it to visitors. (It's ok to tell them you are not local and you are learning about this as you volunteer, they'll appreciate)

• Create some social media content about the palace, the art exhibition, the frescos (we can give more specific task on a weekly basis regarding this).

• Don't forget to close the garden gates (23:00) and the door of Palazzo Mezzacapo at night (00:00)

• Keep an appropriate behavior at all times

• Make visitors feel welcome (a smile and a Buongiorno goes a long way)

• Wear your badge and keep it visible (or our t-shirt)

• Go there dressed appropriately (no flip flops, no swimming suit)

• Do not lay down on chairs and do not sit on the windowsill, it's dangerous and not appropriate

• Do not isolate yourself with headphones. Visitors will see it as a barrier to approach you and also you won't be able to be attentive on what's happening around you

• Be respectful with people

• Be respectful and cooperative with other people working at the same place (make friends)

• Support your partner in the shift or other volunteers by exchanging useful info on the tasks.

• INTERESTING FACTS about Palazzo Mezzacapo: make one 15-20 seconds instagram story about one fact regarding the palace (take information from all description provided and those available inside the fresco room). Example: did you know that in the fresco there is the representation of 4 greeks Gods? Did you know that as of today it is not sure who painted this beutfiul frescos?

• Explanation of one of the painting in the art exhibition (by asking more info to the curator Angelo Criscuoli) - 15-20 seconds story.

• A short story from the places of the City Tour (Did you know that in Maiori there was a Jewish district in medieval times and they even build a small Synagogue around 1200? You can discover this and more in our City Tour) (Did you know that Maiori was part of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi established in IX century and some of the old defensive walls can still be visited?

• A 15-20 seconds instagram story when something is happening in the palace (like people playing piano or any other thing that will happen)

These tasks will be a great way to start using social media in a more professional way, for promotion and dissemination activities. On your phone you can also explore the power of editing and it's always nice to have some background music.
