My Score On The Self Motivation Quiz Was A 47/60

When I first got my self motivation score, I was shocked. It is a really good score and I read the feedback about it, and it describes me really well. It says that I like to get things done quickly and fast, and that I attract and inspire others to do the same, which is true. I love helping my friends when they're in need of motivation or need in any guidance of any sort. The quiz described me as "Achievement Motivation" and in the textbook (Chapter 11, Pg 364), it says that achievement motivation can be very dangerous. A lot of people set really high standards for them, known as perfectionism (which isn't possible), and often hurt themselves physically/mentally because they couldn't accomplish a near impossible goal. If used right, and brought to the right mindset, achievement motivation is great and has lots of strengths. For example, Most of not all athletes have an achievement motivation mindset and it is what sets their bar so high and why they can keep on going so hard for such long times.

My Favorite Info. From This Semester

One of my favorite topics that I've learned throughout this whole year is stress. I don't experience stress frequently, which is why I love this topic so much and really enjoyed this semester. I've learned that there are different types of stress and defense mechanisms to them. Different people tend to act differently and there are positive and negative defense mechanisms. Some defense mechanisms tend to make you work harder, while others could lead to depression or even worse.

I Used Sublimation as my last defense mechanism

I don't stress a lot about anything in general, but when I do, I tend to rely on the sublimation defense mechanism because it lets me get a lot of productive work done. Last time I remember using sublimation was last week when I had a test for Anatomy and Physiology at Fordson High School. I was working late, and didn't arrive home until 11 pm, but I had a very hard exam the next day about the digestive system. The whole car ride home, I was overthinking and stressing but when I got home, I took out my textbook and started studying right away. It took me about an hour to review the whole chapter and I slept around 12:10. I scored an 89% and had one of the highest grades in my class. Honestly, the stress helped me to remember the study guide and during the test, it felt easy.

My Favorite Info. From Chapter 13

One of my favorite topics that we've learned in chapter 13 is about anxiety disorders and what causes them. In page 431, it shows a diagram, which informs us of how a phobia starts. It talks about how classical and operant conditioning can create phobias through a harmful cycle and how trigger warnings don't usually affect phobias much, even for people with a traumatic history, but it can lead to a lot of damage once repeated as it doesn't allow you to get ready mentally/physically for these trigger warnings. I've never really had an anxiety disorder, other then being afraid of the ocean, which is a "Specific Phobia" disorder, but other then that, I don't have an anxiety disorder or any type of phobias. The reason I loved this chapter is because I love learning about topics that I don't have much experience in. I like to be very "versatile" and like to know about as many things as possible even if it's not useful to me.

After I took the quiz and seen the results, I sat back for a minute and thought about the results. This quiz said that I learn best from experiences, which is very true, and it said that I don't allow obstacles to block me or get in my way, which is also true. I always try to expand my skill set and mindset as best as I can so I can be very versatile in everything that I do. But it does say that I need to nurture my self confidence and that I could improve it, but everyone could improve their self confidence. Too much self confidence on the other hand could lead to a big ego, causing a person to think that they're better than everybody else and mostly leads to bullying. I don't dislike the idea of having a lot of self confidence, but if you have too much, it would change your whole mentality and motivation causing you to harm others and/or yourself.

This class has honestly been great class for me. I loved the topics that we learned, I loved how fun this class was while being so informative at the same time, and really loved the teacher. I've learned more in this class then all of my other classes combined and this class had less then a fourth of assignments and homework. It feels like our professor cared for us and wanted us to learn so we could succeed in life, which isn't typically seen a ton nowadays. One of, if not my favorite teacher/professor in my life and I'm grateful that I've had the pleasure to be taught by an amazing professor.
