Diego was older than Sofía, he easily doubled her age, and the first thought that came to her head was that he could be her father. But nobody said anything. Since it was 24th of March, there were stands everywhere, with the quote ‘I can say surely who I am, can you?’, and along with them there were Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo.

The old man and the woman walked straight to one stand without saying a word. When they arrived at their destination there was a grandmother with a big pile of documents, filling some paperwork. Diego and Sofía spoke to this lady, who after a long talk, found a hidden document in her pile. That document was Sofía’s actual birth certificate, which stated that Diego was her real father.

That connection they had felt now had an explanation. They were father and daughter once again reunited, after forty years, they were back together.

They pushed their way through the people till they got in front of the police. Once they got there they started yelling "Appear the disappeared". One, two, three, fifty times they said that. Until the police started spraying them with pepper spray in their eyes.

"F**k you!" Diego yelled at the policeman who had just sprayed him.

"Let it go Diego, Come on" Sofía grabbed Diego by the arm and started pulling both of them outside of the crowd.

Once they were out, a strange man started approaching them.

"Are you okay, darlings?" he handed Sofía a water bottle so that Diego could use it to stop his eyes from burning.

"Yes, thank you"

As Diego's eyes slowly stop burning, he saw a strange envelope in that man's hand. When the man noticed that Diego was staring at his hand he explained.

"It's a super important document. It shows the truth and only the truth" Sofia didn't understand what was happening until the man raised his hand so they could see it better.

"What does it say?" Diego was super intrigued.

"No one has to know. It is a list with all the people who disappeared and who is going to disappear."

"What?! That can't be true" Diego grabbed the envelope from the man's hands.

"Our names are here," said Diego with a terrifying look on his face.

"Diego, don't joke with that. It's not funny" "I'm not joking, look" Sofia took the document that was inside the envelope, and started looking around the names, until she found a name that was familiar.

"We are going to die." Both started panicking. Then suddenly a loud noice, the silence, complete silence.

During this dark period of our history the basical human rights did not exist, such as freedoom to express your opinion, the use of public spaces, etc.

Other dark point was the Malvinas war. This was an attempt to distract the people by making a war, where 905 humans lost their life. 650 of them were Argentine.

In conclusion, it is difficult for me to find a worse and sadder period in Argentine history. So I am going to close with a phrase from San Martín "When the homeland is in danger, everything is allowed except not defending it".

Firstly, the following democratic governments provided the country with a powerful political stability. This was due to all the democratic measures which had been put into effect in order to fill all the public jobs with professional people chosen by the population.

Secondly, human rights have been restored since the last dictatorial government. 40 years ago, during the last dictatorship, human rights were not respected by the authorities. Therefore, you always had to take care of yourself being very careful.

Lastly, we count with the freedom of choosing who to govern our country. All the public positions on the government are performed by people who have to be previously chosen by the country's population making it a fair decision.

In conclusion, 40 years of democracy in Argentina have definitely been a positive transformation due to the improvement on the politic stability, the restoration of human rights and the freedom of choosing who governs our country.

First of all, human rights were seriously violated during this period characterized by the lack of freedom and expression. Significant crimes were committed, thousands of people were kidnapped, killed and tortured.

Secondly, due to the military coup, these years were marked by a huge political instability. The country was scared and dissatisfied with the situation until Raul Alfonsín served as president in 1983 being the first democratically elected president after the dictatorship.

Furthermore, military and representative people at the time caused traumatic experiences on people. For instance, the missing children from “Madres de Plaza de Mayo”, who are still searching for them.

In conclusion, these 40 Years of Democracy in Argentina have created a positive transformation to raise awareness of the protection of human rights and strengthening democracy in the whole country. I would say that all those crimes must be taken into consideration so that a big crisis does not happen again.

The dictatorship in Argentina was a period of time in our country when the government was taken by the military. It was a dark time for argentine history. During the dictatorship many human rights violations were carried out.

If we talk about 1976 this year is full of violence because is when all began. The military started to had more and more power against the people and were then in charge of the government. This made society freak out because they did not knew what it was going to happen next. As a result of this situation all the country was political and social unstable.

Meanwhile 'Human rights' were really vulnerable and because of that people were silenced just for say or express their believes and thoughts, man and women were taken from their homes and were tortured in clandestine centers. Music, books, TV programs, movies, magazines and more ways of self expression were prohibited and burned in some cases.

To mi mind the dictatorship was an awful time to all the people who lived back then and that is why we need to learn and know about topics like this one to be conscious about tragic things that happened in the history of our country.

Taking everything into account we must remember, talk and express about this to not let it happen never again.

As time passed and nobody showed up to them, Sofía asked Diego what they should do. "Maybe try to call him", Diego said, but just before his friend pressed the button a man showed up in front of them. "Have you been waiting for a long time? Sorry for the inconvenience" he said with a deep breath, "here are the documents". Sofía and Diego excitedly took the papers and started to revise them just in case they were false, but this was not the case. "Thank you, sir" Diego said "or should I say grandpa?". The man started to tear up as he heard those words. "Grandpa is fine Diego. I hope your father is okay. We should meet up so I can reunite with my son again

Which, in reality, only sent the country into a political instability. The people in command managed the political power, the naval force and the army, They set limits on exposure and circulation, they also promised acts that later they didn't do.

The laws that they were forced to obey did not respect human rights, they exceeded any reasoning about these rights. People who made complaints simply disappeared, there were 30,000 missing during the period. There was no respect for basic human rights such as the expression of opinion or human rights over identity.

This gave rise to the group "Madres de Plaza de Mayo". Who searched for their missing children, today they continue marching as "Abuelas Plaza de Mayo."

Nowadays in democracy, there are a significant number of children and adults who are leading a false life, a life without their real identity.
