So, the challenge faced by children today is the dwindling interest in reading, as well as writing, due to the reliance on digital texts available on many platforms. One way to increase children's interest in reading is to have them read and tell about their history or interesting life experiences, and to have them rewrite what they want in their own language. In this way, children's reading and writing development will increase.

Children are also motivated by their own personal writing and there are many tools available to support writing and allow them to author for different audiences – multi-modal digital narratives like cartoons, storyboards, presentations, blogs, websites and extended prose.

Bringing Sound and Paper Using Technology

The development of portable technology has led to the creation of "pointing devices" that can record sound and audio content on paper, aiding in assessment and language learning. Examples include Mantra Lingua's PENpal and phonics tiles, which enable children to learn phonics through interactive games and activities.

PENpal is a tool that can help the development of reading by strengthening the relationship between spoken and written words. This allows users to listen to stories in multiple languages while viewing picture books. This approach combines paper-based text with strong visuals and sound recorded through touch. Learners can also record their own readings or produce a dual language version, which is in tune with current language acquisition theory. Developing skills in various languages during primary school years leads to an effective understanding of use.

2. case study: talking books

In England, the Hampshire Ethnic Minority and Traveler Achievement Service (EMTAS) started an early intervention in reading initiative, aimed primarily at preschool children from families where English is not the first language at home. However, some children lack English speaking and listening skills, due to a lack of understanding of English at home or in the community, or a lack of special guidance from parents or peers. They may start school in a developmental state.

EMTAS collaborated with school library services to procure 10 well-known books. The aim of the project is to lend recorded readings and retellings in English, as well as 10 additional recordings for each book, through local children's centers, so that parents and children can read books in English and their native language using accompaniment. audio guide. The goal is to enable verbal sharing of information. talking pen.

3. Reading Practise

TextHelp's Fluency Tutor is a reading program that supports early readers, records reading, offers quizzes, and provides feedback on areas like mispronunciation, and tracks progress through sophisticated texts.

Pearson's Rapid Reading programme uses speech recognition to provide real-time feedback, improving spoken English and vocabulary. However, its effectiveness depends on the appropriateness of the chosen texts. Reading should be purposeful, engaging, relevant, visual, and explore various genres to meet 21st-century learners' needs.

Likewise, the education system in the current era has begun to use digital. Therefore, teachers began to use digital in teaching students to attract attention, because using digital games such as duolingo and educaplay can make students not easily bored and enthusiastic in learning. But on the other hand, there are some students who interfere with the overall learning objectives because students prefer to win games rather than capture learning materials.
