The stability of the Gupta Empire also encouraged the growth of arts and architecture. For example, The Empire was formally known for their paintings. On long scrolls, a painting was essential. Especially to noble families where they would complete their homes with a painting. The greatest paintings were ancient Indian works named the Ajanta cave murals. The murals seem to cover up 30 caves that present artwork depicting the practices of Buddhism, Buddha himself, kings, queens and graceful people and stories.

Another form of literature that had a big impact on their culture, was the making of poetry. Gupta writers used poetry, fables and folklore in their work as well.

A Hindu poem named The Mahabharata ("Great Work") was a poem that composed themes that relate to Hindu values and the battle between good and evil.

A part of The Mahabharata is The Bhagavad Gita, which translates to, "The Song of the Lord." Which is one of the most beloved poems in the world of Hinduism literature. The poem goes on to tell a story about Prince Arjuna being taught about Hinduism by Krishna.

Sculptures were either made to stand on their own foundation or to be carved on walls and temples. They do share a common theme of representing different scenes from people's lives.

The Gupta sculptures have portrayed the human figure and are made with great detail and pride.

Metalworkers were also appreciated for their ironwork. Like the iron pillar at Mehrauli, made of solid iron, while standing 25 feet tall and weighs about 13,000 pounds. Displaying the great skill of these people.
Till this day, it remains a mystery how advanced Gupta ironworkers were for making their work rust free after thousands of years.

However, some other mathematicians decided to take it a step further by creating the decimal system.
