How they learn it depends on both the teacher and the student. 
In the beginning of the year, I lie on the floor and pretend like I am a baby. I pretend to get up and try to walk, but I fall down. Then I say, "I give up. That was too hard" and continue to lie on the floor. The kids start laughing. Then I talk about the fact that the need to do try things that are new is part of being a human being. We challenge ourselves everyday. If you do not get something, try it agina until you understand how to do it. Just like walking. You did not give up. Don't give up now.
