         <description><![CDATA[<div>A royalty is a type of payment paid from one party (usually the license or franchisee) to another that owns a particular asset (the licensor or franchisor for the right to ongoing that use of that asset). Royalties are there to protect the owner of the property (whether that is music, art, books etc.), as well as allow others to use the property which benefits the owner. Royalties can also protect the buyer from claims by the owner for improper use. A royalty interest is having the right to collect the stream of future royalty payments. Royalties are also a taxable income and also a business expense. Royalty payments are legitimate business expenses and are recorded on the profit or loss statement.</div>]]></description>
