This quarter in Practical Research 2 has been one of the most challenging yet fulfilling learning experiences I’ve had so far in senior high school. When I was Grade 11 student pa, at first, I thought research was just about gathering information and putting it into a paper, but I soon realized it’s much more than that. It’s a process, a journey that teaches us not only academic skills, but also patience, teamwork, and critical thinking.

My Journey in Writing a Research Proposal

As I reflect on my journey through the first quarter of our research course, I realize that writing a research proposal was a challenging yet rewarding experience. In this essay, I will share the most important lessons I learned about quantitative research, the significance of identifying variables and creating a conceptual framework, the importance of ethical citation and proper referencing, and how the skills I developed this quarter will benefit me in the future.

The most crucial lesson I learned this quarter is the importance of a well-structured research proposal. A good proposal outlines the research question, objectives, and methodology, providing a clear research project.

Identifying variables and creating a conceptual framework were important in helping me understand my research better. This process was important in developing a clear hypothesis.

Ethical citation and proper referencing are critical in conducting research. Through the literature review I learned the importance of acknowledging the work of other researchers and authors. Proper citation not only avoids plagiarism but also contributes to the academic integrity of the research.

The skills I developed this quarter will undoubtedly benefit me in future studies and real-life situations. Moreover, the discipline required in ethical citation and referencing will ensure that my work maintains the highest standards of clarity. In real-life situations, these skills will enhance my problem-solving and decision-making abilities, allowing me to approach challenges in a systematic and evidence-based manner.
