What protections are there for me the teacher if something happens. Or parents or student for looking. If things go “missing” how am I being protected.

If this is going to be a district wide requirement, the district needs to provide resources. Teachers are not trained as security professionals. We are educators and this increased duty prohibits us from doing the job we were hired to do.

Teachers are not trained or qualified to perform security checks. The district received a sizable donation recently. Why is the district not providing professional resource officers in order to perform this duty?

Ex: 3 weeks "front duty," 3 weeks hall/cafeteria AM duty, 3 weeks PM duty.

I will agree w/ person above that 3 weeks is a lot :-( if there is any way to reduce that or chunk it up into more "palatable" chunks, like weekly, that would be great.

Since our campus is the only campus without the fancy screeners, how is this not a Title IX violation?

At what cost is human safety? The district does not have the money to buy the proper security scanner for GPFAA, and there is $16 million in the bank drawing interest.

What is the price of safety? The district does not have the money to buy the upgraded screener yet there is $16 million sitting in a bank. Tell that to a family that is affected by campus violence.

This screams optics of security but not actual security. How is a teacher or administrator supposed to apprehend someone if a weapon is found? How are security “checks” effective if we are not searching? We all have to drop everything for all hands on deck for safety that I’ve yet to be convinced is effective.
