         <description><![CDATA[<div>Beneficial to consumers&nbsp;<br><br>Price discrimination....<br>consumers who purchase tickets at major stations belong to the more price elastic &nbsp;<br><br>In monopolies and oligopolies, producers can achieve substantial economies of scale which allows them to produce at lower AC and MC. Thus it is possible for them to sell cheaper and consumers can enjoy the goods at lower prices<br><br><br>Contestable market....&nbsp;<br>Although the companies in monopoly or oligopoly have dominant market power, there are potential companies who want to enter the market. Hence, the market can be a contestable one which makes the companies lower the price and in crease the quality of products. Hence, consumer can benefit from lower price and higher quantity. However, companies with monopolistic power, though have supernormal profits to invest in R&amp;D, that may not want to innovate since they do not want to erode the sales of their incumbent products.<br><br><br>Others....</div>]]></description>
