From the source "Robynn`s Corner" they tell us that this song was written by George Teren and Rivers Rutherford, and recorded by Brad Paisley. When I get where I`m Going is a song about how when a family member dies they do not want you to be upset about it because "when they get where they are going" they will be happy and everything will be better for them in heaven. This song relates to me because about three years ago my 35 year old uncle passed away due to a heart attack. This was one of the most distraught things that have happened in my life. I cried for days on end and watched my, at the time, 8 year old cousins not fully understand what had happened to their dad. My uncle was always the type of person to say "it is what it is and if it`s my time to go then that`s what will happen, I am not scared of dying." So we got the family together to decide what songs should be played at his funeral and my dad has always told me this is the song he wants played at his so at that moment we then decided that this was the song we would have playing.
