I interpreted this policy as a really good positive outlook on mental health. It was about promoting mental health and the well being of individuals instead of the discrimination and stigma that surrounds mental health, instead of mental health being that 'taboo' subject people feel uncomfortable talking about.
It was a set of six shared objectives that start with promoting better mental health.
Moving forward to people who do have poor mental health and making their experience of this easier for them and by promoting their recovery and physical health. Making their experience of care and support a positive one, giving people more choice and control over their lives. Promoting peoples human rights and allowing them access to early interventions no matter what their status.
This policy to me seems very person centred just how care should be no matter who the person is or where they come from. Removing all the bad stigma around mental health and focusing on the positives the recovery, prevention and resilience.
Encouraging everybody to talk about mental health promoting it as everyone's business!

SC

This policy looks at the empowerment of communities of all ages, rather than select groups, which I think is a really positive viewpoint to have with mental health as it can have an affect on anyone, even indirectly. 'No health without mental health' focus's on all ages having equal opportunities, improving recovery statistics and care experience, decreasing discrimination and avoidable harm and balancing physical and mental health.
The policy discusses the importance for needing a new strategy to intervene and improve, with the aim of eradicating stigma, ultimately encouraging those who need help to seek support.
