I told myself that I wanted to start a new sport, even though I did not know if I would make the school team or not. All summer I practiced and followed my goal. When FSHA tryouts came I was very nervous, but confident because I knew I worked hard for my spot. I made the JV tennis team, and this taught me to pursue my goals, even if they seem unrealistic. I learned to be dedicated and hard working. Each person was required to sing alone in front of the whole class. I have never done theatre before, let alone sing in front of people. I auditioned and got one of the lead roles in the play, and had a singing solo. I performed in front of hundreds of people, something I never imagined I could do. This experience shaped me to be a confident person who is not afraid to step out of their comfort zone. I also discovered that I loved singing, and that I shouldn't be afraid to express a talent that I have hidden.
