The first one is she has Coraline go to the upstairs neighbor and watch his show. Mr. Bobinski runs a mouse circus and the mice perform an amazing show.
After this, Coraline and her friend go down to the basement, where two actors put on an awesome performance. 
The last 'trial' is when Coraline comes back from these things and meets her other parents. They want her to stay there forever. However, when she wakes up, she is still in the other world. She attempts to make it to the tunnel to get to her real world, but her other mother stops her. Coraline and the other mother fight. During the fight, her other mother changes her form into something taller with needles for her hands. The other mother grabs her and shoves her into a mirror, which opened like a door, and told her that Coraline can come back when she has a better attitude. 

Inside the mirror room, Coraline meets three ghost kids. They all tell her she needs to help them escape because they are trapped in that world. They tell her that the other mother's name is the Beldam, and she watches them and picks up what is wrong, so she can perfect their world. She lures the kids into a false state of security, and when they agree to let her sew buttons on their eyes it secures their fate. When the buttons are on them, they are trapped, and Belham eventually gets bored of them and throws them aside, leaving them alone to die. They can't leave because their souls are trapped there. 

Coraline's friend Wybie pulls her out of the mirror room and helps her escape the world. However, when she gets back, she finds that her parents are gone. She looks everywhere for them, but she can't find them anywhere. She realizes that Beldam has them and she decides to go back to the world.

When she gets back into the world, she immediately challenges Beldam to a game to find the ghost's eyeballs and her parents. Beldam agrees, and Coraline sets off. She finds the first eye inside the garden. Her other father tries to stop her, but she gains the eye after a little scuffle. After that, she goes down to the basement and finds the second eye, with a little bit more of a scuffle. She goes up to the mouse circus and tries to get the last eye, but one of the mice grabs it and runs away. Coraline loses almost all hope and thinks she is going to fail, but a cat brings back the ball and helps her.

When Coraline makes it back to the house Beldam is waiting. Coraline demands that she has won and that she should be let go, but Beldam says she hasn't found her parents yet. Coraline says they are in the locked tunnel, so Beldam opens the door to show her that she is wrong. Coraline takes this chance to throw the cat at Beldam, grab the snow globe on the shelf, which is where her parents really are, and attempt to make it out of there. The cat scratches the buttons off Beldam's eyes and books it out of there. Beldam stops Coraline from getting it out of there and makes a web to stop her.
