The results show that the researcher's hypothesis was correct. The leaf chads in the red water floated to the top long before the leaf chads in the violet or green water. The act of the leaves becoming buoyant supports that they are going through photosynthesis because oxygen is produced in photosynthesis.

Conclusion

Our hypothesis was correct, the chads that were placed in the red dye photosynthesized at a faster rate than the leaves in the other two colors. We could also attribute this data to some errors in our experiment. We originally were going to observe one cup at a time so we placed the leaf chads in the red dye earlier than the other cups. Also throughout the experiment we stirred the chads around. The first cup we stirred was the red cup. This could have caused the chads to rise earlier because they were swirled around first.
