In the original script, later it says that she took her own life. The audience assumes that the regret and obsession caught up with her and that made her want to end it.

However, there are some weaknesses in the graphic novel. For example, when Lady Macbeth is walking in the middle of the night, in the original text both the doctor and the gentlewoman talk to each other about why she's doing this. Yet in the graphic novel, Lady Macbeth is talking to herself and the small dialogue between the doctor and the gentlewoman doesn't take place at all until the very end. The doctor said, "what a sigh is there! The heart is sorely charged," which in reply the gentlewoman said, "I would not have such a heart in my bosom for the dignity of the whole body." This is a small discussion, but it is a little more important than many people would think.
