         <description><![CDATA[<div>From what I can tell, the work we did in the library was to help us understand the are and the calm of Japanese culture. It was said in the readings that we looked at about the different crafts that there was more than a singular meaning for their creation. Origami is for a non-permanent art with lasting effort required. Shibori was the manipulation of the solid dye that creates beautiful patterns due to the fabrics different hold and pinches. Calligraphy was us to make the simpler things such as writing into liquid stories that splash against the paper. I think that this work was to show us the more religious side of the culture. Zen Buddhism was mentioned at the end which is the more prominent religion in Japan. Perhaps this was an exercise to look at things from a new perspective</div>]]></description>
