UDL’s goal is to get teachers to provide multiple means of engagement for different learners. Students have many variations of engagement, and it is up to us teachers to accommodate and help them learn and grow through those variations.

The UDL principle of representation is aiming to get teachers to represent their students or accommodate their learning struggles and disabilities by curriculum variation. There are many students that may have reading, sensory or other disabilities and we as teachers must find ways to “tweak” our lessons to support all children. It’s important for teachers to have a way of doing this, because all schools will require teachers to know how to accommodate for students.
