I am not a risk taker. There are countless times when I have backed away when I'm introduced to a new environment, such as when my dad first convinced me to take the entrance exam for PTNK. My first reaction to something new is usually to stay away from it, so I'm not a risk taker.

Personally, I'm usually not one to take risks. Most of the time, if I have to make a choice, I'd consider in my head the pros and cons of each decision, then choose the one with the most pros, or the least cons. If that doesn't work, then I'd have to also consider how I'd be able to benefit from the pros, and whether I'd be able to endure the cons well.

Risk taking isn't my type of thing to do. Of course, that is, extremely high risk high reward. But what I consider as "risks" are the challenges that I can perform if I undergo intensive training with determination and actually focusing on putting real effort into clearing the obstacles that lie ahead. If I succeed, I become overjoyed as well as my family. If I fail, I don't feel sad, but a little bit disappointed, with a hint of regret. But I learn from my mistakes. A win-win situation in my books. I consider myself as a risk taker, with the risks being slightly difficult which require actual effort.

I do occasionally take risks in low-risk activities, for example casual games with my family or single player games. But for situations where the choices have great impact on my life and/or those around me, I would most likely choose the low-risk option. In addition, if I have to pick between low-risk, little award and high-stakes, high reward, I would also consider the pros and cons between them and decide which is better. Nevertheless, knowing me, I will most likely play it safe and avoid risky decisions.

I'll rarely chance it if there's a safe alternative that doesn't miss out much on the fun I'd have if the risk paid off.

“Go big or go home” is what I’ve been hearing since I was a little child. Growing up, I have always regarded myself as a risk-taker, a quite reckless one to be frank. I believe that stepping out of our comfort zone is the part and parcel of one’s maturation and self-discovery; and one could only attain what they want by being willing to let go of certain things, which could either be trivial or tremendous. Of course, if someone prefers backing off and keeping it safe, more power to them. However, I hope that decision is full of considerations and intentions, rather than be motivated by fear and self-denial.

If consequences when I fail to do the something are too serious , or if the thing is not that important, I will go along with what I have planned. Why bother taking risks when you know that you can do it easily, maybe more slowly but you know you will 100% succeed? But when it comes to things that can change my whole life if I succeed, but even if I fail, the consequences won’t do much harm, I will follow the unsafe path.

I don’t actively take risks unless I really have to. When I do decide to take a risk, it would be a carefully calculated one. To me the act of taking a risk inherently leaves room for error and potential complications, so I’d opt for any calculation and analysis I can do beforehand to minimize any harm while furthering my chance of success. This usually means an academic risk in my case, such as an essay with a topic I’m not familiar with, or even the use of English words I don’t normally use but assume would improve my work overall.

I would consider myself a risk-taker, not in the sense of going skydiving every other days of the week, but just that when faced with a decision, I prefer not to rethink my first choice too much, if not at all. In hindsight, there are times when I chose right and times when I didn't but ultimately, what mattered most are the memories I made and the mistakes I learned from. They all shaped me as a person, as they would with anyone. I personally think that if you were to only do things without risk, you might as well not do anything. Aside, it is somewhat unfathomable that anyone can do such a thing. There is risk in anything and everything we do. Burdening as it seems, it is what made us, well, us! And so, I like to leave things to chance every now and then, if things don't turn out as I wanted, then so be it, at least I can say that I tried. It is somewhat a shame that "risk-taker" has become a cliched buzzword nowadays. But at the risk of being seen as trying too hard to be special, I would like to say I'm a risk-taker

However, I would also think thoroughly before taking on any risks. For instance, I would try thinking out of the box while doing excercises or homework which I know that I would have a chance to impress the teacher and get an extra point. but I would rather not try doing it in exams because the risk is far greater than the reward. This also applies for other activities such as basketball, I would rather push myself over the limit for a short duration in crucial times than playing reserved which is risky because it is likely to fail if I'm not good enough but also comes with high reward - winning the game.

Although my major has always been English, I made up my mind to sit an exam to join the Math selected team and I succeeded afterwards. With hindsight, I believe that if we put enough efforts into what we want to accomplish, we'll nail it. When I was a child, many a time I was too afraid of getting out of my comfort zone due to my uncertainty, and as a consequence, I missed the boat on developing myself and acquiring new skills. Sometimes, I still regret having let the opportunity passing by. Fortunately, the older I’ve become, the more confidence I’ve instilled in myself. I strongly believe that there are always hindrance and failure on our paths to success, and we might also be at loss; however, as long as we overcome the misery and learn from our mistakes, our dreams will eventually come into fruition, since every reward is commensurate with the effort put in. But if the decisions we made will have a tremendous effect on our future or those around us, I still prefer to weighing the pros and cons before coming into a conclusion, or else it will be more of a impulsive thought. All in all, I would consider myself as a risk-taker.

While life is about taking chances and grabbing your opportunities, it does not diminish the significance of taking into consideration every possibility of things falling through. I have been hitherto regarded as judicious by some and audacious or perhaps reckless by others. I am not the kind of person who would go for broke, nor am I the one who would stay in my bubble due to the unfathomability of the world and be obsessed with Murphy's Laws; as only by taking risks can you make a breakthrough, develop your character and learn from that experience and better yourself. Nevertheless, spearheading is not something I would do. Only having weighed up all the pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages, the rewards and prices will I consider getting out of my comfort zone.

Personally, I’m a risk-taker, and unless the choices I’m about to make would heavily impact my future, I would be willing to take that risk and won’t regret it if something bad happens. That is because, in my opinion, chances only come once, and who knows what would happen if I do decide to take them or not, so for whatever it is, I’m almost always willing to take the risk and live with it. Furthermore, I believe I can improve and mature so much more whenever I step-out of my comfort-zone and doing so has taught me many valuable lessons in life. Besides, if you fail and hit rock bottom, the only way is up and you can learn so much from those mistakes. However, when working in a group, my actions can cause unnecessary problems for the team and only then am I not willing to take the risk. In conclusion, I’m a risk-taker, I enjoy the thrill of taking risks but I won’t take risks if the consequences affect an entire group instead of just me.

Sometimes, I do receive rewards that make up for the (admittedly frightening) experiences. Too often, however, the thrill of stepping into the unknown is not worth the regrets that follow in the aftermath. But before taking the risk, I would take into consideration other options, weigh the pro's and con's of success and failure, and after careful consideration, I would definitely take the risk if the benefits outweigh drawbacks. I believe that when a person refrains from taking risks, he/she is shying away from a gold mine fraught with perils. Well, of course it would be ridiculous to take the risk if you do not know how to overcome those perils. But if you study situation well enough and find a way to get yourself past those dangers then the risk is going to be greatly attenuated. To some people, the options to reduce the risks never pop up in the heads when they are taking tough choices, but I would always examine the situation carefully and only take the risk when it benefits me.

No, I'm not a risk taker. Saying so with such bluntness wouldn't look great on my job application, but I digress. I gave that answer easily because in my whole fifteen years of life, I have yet to be put in a situation in which I was forced to take a real risk whatsoever. Despite my instinctual approach to life, I have always been on a very certain route. I was certain I would make it into Lê Hồng Phong high school, so I put it in at the very top of my application. I am confident in my own ability, so no decisions I have ever felt like a risk. I don't enjoy any form of gambling or betting for the exact same reason, if the outcome can't be somewhat determined, then I don't want to risk it. I choose the safest option because I want to minimize negative result, even if riskier options possibly entail bigger rewards, I don't
want to risk it even if there's only a very small chance of anything going wrong. In summary, I have not taken a risk in my life and have yet to be in a situation that would convince me otherwise. The day I am compelled enough to take a risk might come, but nowhere near soon.

For every activity that I engage in, there is no guarantee that I will succeed. But I believe that a lesson comes with any experience, be that the worst or the best. For instance, I applied for a major in English (for lack of a better term) in secondary school. To be honest, it was stressful and exhausting. If I had failed to get a prize, time spent not learning other subjects would have gone to waste (at least that was what I thought to myself). Risks can not be eliminated, after all. The only thing worth trying was to increase the odds of success. So I and my mates toiled for months. In the end, I got a prize (like many others). But most importantly, I learned of the richness of the English language (no language can replace my mother tongue, but every language is rich in their own right). I am still far from “mastering” English, but the time spent on the English major was worth it.

Although I am fond of taking risks, there is a certain point where I draw the line. I don't think of risk-taking as doing something that doesn't guarantee success or going for adrenaline-rush activities; but in a sense that if I failed or didn't do something that I should have, there would be terrible outcomes. In my fifteen years of life, there has never been such a thing. Whether it is participating in a competition or applying for projects, there was no consequence for failing. My life still goes on, maybe embarrassment will haunt me at night, but that's it. Regret and the fear of no definite success don't stand in my way of making cherished memories and gaining crucial skills. By that definition, I am not a risk-taker. Not because I live a dull and monotonous life, but because I'm young and have never decided anything important.
I know for certain that one day I will face tough choices that determine my whole life. However, I also know for a fact that I still have so much more to learn, and that day won't come soon. I hope by then I will have had enough experience to be a bold risk-taker and regret nothing afterward.

I learned that the very things I love to do require me to take bigger and bigger risks - speaking up in a household that silences, leaping off into the art world and clinging onto my passion as an artist despite the disapproving looks of family and relatives. I realized that on the other side of the walls, where our comfort zones fall apart and we wander aimlessly, that is where we truly live. To live life is to gamble, for me at least. To go places, to anticipate things that could go wrong but do it anyway, the exhilerating feeling of being alive and making choices without regrets.

So yes, I am, and proudly, a risk taker.

I considered myself to be a risk-taker. One of the reasons why I am a risk taker is because no one knows the future until it comes to them. Life is deterministic and probabilistic at the same time. There's no certainty in life, so why even choose the "safest option" in the first place. Of course, that's not to say I blindly choose whatever decision. I indeed have to weigh them up and make sure that at least, it will yield something for me after I choose it. However, playing it safe won't get you anywhere. Another reason is that taking risks and failing will benefit me in the long run since each time I make a decision, I will receive result of it. If it is a good result then that decision is good and I can rely on it. If it is bad then I will learn from it, make better decisions and move on.
Overall, I am a risk taker with some moderations. There's always a healthy dose of risk.

Well, I would consider myself somewhere in the middle. There were times I longed for sentiments of certainty, assurance, and stability, so I just took the safe route. For instance, when I was in grade eight, I was of two minds about whether to choose math or English as my major subject. At that moment, I went to several tutorial classes for specialized math, but I just could not grasp the subject. Despite my parents telling me to give it a shot, I still knew myself better and was cognizant of the potential risks. As a result, I decided to put an end to these specialized math lessons and focus on my English instead. Still, there were moments when taking risks could do me good. Truth be told, at the time when I was a student in secondary high school, I gave study my undivided attention and chose not to engage in any extracurricular activities since I didn't have the guts to try new things or meet new people. But, once I realized the benefits of these activities, I forced myself to keep my chin up and apply as an event planner for one educational campaign. I then accumulated a great deal of experience, for which I am deeply grateful. As you can see, I overcame my own obstacles by stepping out of my comfort zone and taking risks. All in all, I will try to make the best of every chance I get and, at times, take risks if necessary. But when it comes to crucial or significant issues, I tend to weigh up the pros and cons before I make up my mind and take action.

I am naturally a risk-taker. When I was a kid, my mom usually told me off for doing silly things - and by “silly” I mean “unnecessary and does not bring any results and probably dangerous, which means I would need someone else to take care of the mess I made afterwards”. For example, I once put my hand inside a boiling pot of soup instead of using chopsticks to dip the vegetables down like a normal human being would (luckily my hand didn’t burn) (and yeah I really did that). Doing and learning new things have always been tempting to me, thus sometimes I don’t really think about the consequences of my actions. However, precisely because of that, oftentimes I find myself the most cautious person of all. Every “silly” mistake I make goes into my growing database of possibilities, of what I know is safe and what not, which helps me prevent unwanted outcomes before they ever happen. Some people may be under the impression that I always do things “right”, leaving no room for errors and failures, but that is not the case. What I want is actually to avoid the possibilities that I already know the results of and continue exploring the unknown. I would deliberately not choose the tried-and-true method if there were a new one that I want to experiment with, despite the risks. Therefore, although now I’m not as reckless as before, I’m still a risk-taker at my core and will probably do something as foolish as boiling my hand again someday.

In my own view, I consider risks as something that push and force me to try out new challenges and step out of my comfort zone. And by taking risks, I make more mistakes, gain more lessons and relish more gripping experiences. I encourage myself to dream bigger, set higher goals and as a result, I attained accomplishments that I might barely dream of. With that being said, I am not a 100% risk taker. I'd rather be cautious when it comes to mutual relationships and judgemental anytime I meet new friends, simply because I'm afraid to risk my belief. Lastly, not all risks might be pleasant, but for better or for worse, I am willing to give it a try and make it a thing to remember, as one of my favored idioms has revealed: "Variety is the spice of life."

A few years earlier, I was nowhere near a risk-taker because of my self-containment, passiveness, and antisocial tendency. I considered myself a lone wolf and tried my best to avoid any circumstances that required social interactions or making big decisions. I always contemplated when it came to trying anything unprecedented and weighed up all the pros and cons for ages before reaching a conclusion. Nevertheless, I often find myself wondering: Am I actually able to assess every single long-term risk? Thankfully, continuous attempts in improving myself throughout adolescence were what transformed the old "me" into a brand new and of course, more auspicious version. I have learned that risks are just uncertain opportunities or occasions. If you choose wisely, it will be a life-time memorable experience. If not, you will also receive one of the most unforgettable lessons, which may come in handy in the long run. From my viewpoint, we are afraid of taking risks because we are not ready to face failure or to challenge ourselves. To me, coming to a decision is way better than hesitating or dithering. Sometimes you just have to try, to risk to see what will happen, what is waiting for you, and what life has to offer you. "There are certain things in life that have limits, but you don't unless you impose limits on yourself” (Grant Cardone). Keep on dreaming, keep on trying, keep on chasing your dream and someday, you will definately succeed wildy. I no longer consider risks as danger or doom but as possibilities. I believe that anyone can take risks if they are willing to get rid of their invisible fear and put on a positive attitude towards the result or whatever is coming later. To encapsulate, I pride myself on being a risk-taker, which can sometimes turn me into a promising chance-taker.
