Data driven decision making using big data. Pirelli leverage advance analytics and real time data to enhance operational efficiency and provide his sales team with the direction of the types of parts that would best sell in certain regions and what parts would be sold in areas more than others. Paolo also used the information to not only predict what will they need in 10 years time but also how to best plan for redesign the tires after usage and sustainable distribution.

This type of insight from Pirelli allows me to understand what measures we could use at an organization. Such as where could grow certain offices, to understand the type of projects we work on urban/water/energy and what are the values of the projects in each global area. It would be very interesting to know the defined P&L with such details. And in the end, target and support the areas where projects are more profitable. I also invisage ways to collaborate with cross sectional departments such as corporate secretary, Finance, tax teams and align some hierarchy organisational charts with their details such as branch offices, entities, directors, contact details, addresses etc. We would be able to work on a baseline data that we all have access to regarding our group company structure. This would entail us to work together in keeping a strong compliance and governance structure without the overheads doing repeated work from different areas. I mean with having a centralised database where this can be shared with specific groups to update and maintain.
