2. TV, internet, and social media all play crucial roles in the spread of social media because they all are used to spread ideas, through news, even though some of them have bias which can create controversy. But it is all important because the ideas aren't necessarily agreed on so you are able to get different perspectives on the same points, compared to in the past where your local news could have reported what they believe, and that is the only information you would have received. Most popular media nowadays is run through social media or the internet, and TV, meaning that is where people get their opinions and ideas from.

2.
TV, Internet and social media develop an interconnected network, making the process of instantaneously diffusing information in popular media effortless. Through television, a wide variety of people, whom may not have access to cell phones or social networks, are exposed to the many current events occurring in the world. This is done primarily through news stations. The Internet, on the other hand, serves as a connected medium, interconnecting everyone's thoughts, perspectives, and current events. Similar to the internet, the most important aspect of social media is the instantaneous autonomy of the users. Every person or group of people has equal power to distribute their thoughts and opinions through these mediums, unlike the TV where only certain people are able to voice their ideas. Occurring in more developed Stage 4 countries, with the most access to popular media, the information received in these developed countries can trickle down to less developed countries. Thus, furthering the process of information diffusion.

I also notice that there is no Facebook presence in China or Russia at all, which can be explained due to those countries' communistic government and their regulation of their own censored social media. Furthermore, with the presence of social media such as Facebook, people from all over the world can instantaneously communicate with each other with no international fees like there is on telephones. This makes communication way more widely accessible and feasible, creating a "smaller world" in a sense.

3. With today's globally connected world, the creation and spread of cultural media is more frequent than ever. However, more countries are more likely to be the sources of popular media than others. Stage 4 countries such as the United States and parts of Western and Southern Europe have in the past been sources of the creation of social media such as Instagram and Soundcloud. The media then diffuses to Stage 3 countries in South America and Eastern Asia for example, and as the media becomes more and more popular over time, than the media finds its way to countries that have very little technological connectivity in comparison to Stage 4 countries. Exceptions can arise as certain countries that are quite technologically advanced and are in Stage 3(China and Russia) will intentionally prevent the spread of media such as Instagram in order to sensor information within a society. Lastly, the media may end up in a Stage 2 country in Northern Africa for example but there is also a chance it might not.
