I am so proud of everything we accomplished this month, my fellow writers. Dr. Stephens and Mr. Bob Cat, thank you both for being cheerleaders for all of us and for inspiring us to be as open as we could be.

I wish I could go through this institute again!

Beautiful writing. Your ability to articulate this complicated feeling and period of your life is something to be in awe of. Your words are emotionally inducing. I could feel the pain and confusion of these moments in time in your writing, however I could also feel the hope for better days and appreciation for those who supported you through everything. Knowing who you are now, you have undoubtedly transformed into a beautiful and strong woman. I know those two men would be extremely proud. I know I am. I love you Alexis!

As a retired teacher, it has been a pleasure to read the writings of each participant! I have read some in depth and skimmed others........I could spend hours reading all of them thoroughly! I am so impressed with the dedication of current and soon-to-be educators. Congratulations to you all. Alexis, every time I think I cannot be more proud of the woman/person you've become you just blow me away again....and again! While going through your writings I couldn't help thinking about your special relationship with words, going all the way back to when you were an infant/toddler. As your mom and I have told you many times, even before you could walk you would be content to flip through the pages of a book (without pictures) and just look at the different words.

You have a special gift and I am so happy to see you are not letting that gift go to waste. Your future students don't know how fortunate they are, but it won't take them long to realize they've hit the jackpot!

Grandmommy & Papa would be so proud!
