The french used a strategy called divide and rule where they would put local mandarins communities and religious groups together. The living conditions were poor because they worked long hard hours for low wages. Of course the people did not like imperialism and the French did because they were getting resources </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Imperialism in the Congo was a blood soaked tyranny. Belgium used religion to help control the Congo. They had the Africans work hard to try to go to heaven. Belgium did this so the slaves would not revolt. The slaves would have unbearable living conditions. . <br>The Congo lost all of its power and was run entirely by Belgium and the Congo did not like this. </div>]]></description>

The British liked India's nationalist ideas. The British also made the Indians fight in war with them they called the combo Sepoy. The Indians did not like this  and later rebelled. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the 1760's the industrial revolution started in Europe. The industrial revolution costs lots of resources to build and maintain. Many countries in Europe lacked natural resources and as more and more European countries industrialized there was a larger need for resources. Europe's solution to the lack of resources was to imperialism a foreign country to take their resources. Because they were the most advanced people imperialism was effortless for them. Economic motives for imperialism were that imperial powers competed for the best access to market trade and resources. Political motivations was a competition for supremacy national pride. Social motives were social Darwinism and wanting to be the best  </div>]]></description>
