They are isolated, stay to themselves and the law of the country doesn't always match up to the law of the village. The villagers usually take justice and revenge in their own hands. The village provides themselves with food, jobs, and entertainment. Families stay in the town for generations and it is shamed upon to leave.

Men in suits, as well as men in overalls seem to all meet with each other at the other side of the square and all smile and laugh those genuine laughs that seem to only come from men who you know have stories to tell. The women of the village all huddle together with gossip and I nudge Macie with my shoulder and make a movement towards the women with my head “shouldn’t you be over there with all of them instead of with me and the kids?”

One paper per family member back in the box and Macie doesn’t draw with you, as she is accounted for by David now.” Macie looks at me nervously as she is pulled away and towards her husband. Alexis has a blank paper as well she hold highly above her head.I can hear the feet walking across the square towards the stones that the children had stacked along the edges of the grass. My father holds his up, blank and my mother as well. My ears are flooded with the sounds of rushing blood and adrenaline as I open the paper in my hand and drop it onto the ground in one swift motion.
