In the beginning of the metamorphosis, Gregor lays confused on his bed, wondering how and why he transformed to an enormous bug, "What's happened to me?". As Gregor's parents and the chief clerk begin to worry about Gregor and plead for him to open the door he becomes scared and anxious about revealing himself to his family and the chief, "Gregor was frightened when he heard his own answering voice". After Gregor reveals himself to his family and the chief, he becomes composed and almost accepts his circumstances in some way, knowing hiding in his room will not reverse his transformation, "Now," said Gregor, who was perfectly conscious of being the only one who had remained clam.

Due to peculiar situations, Gregor cannot make the conversion back to a regular human being and is stuck a bug. Gregor is nowhere near his original form and instead scares off regular humans, "He couldn't resist snapping at the air with his jaws a few times. This made his mother scream again, dash away from the table and fall into the arms of his father." Evidently, Gregor is stuck in a state of a bug and is unable to continue a structured life.

She went as far as fainting when seeing her son "Gregor's mother-her hair, despite the chief clerk's presence, still disheveled from the night and right now standing on end-looked first with hands clasped together at his father, then took two steps towards Gregor and collapsed..." pg 39. She doesnt seem optomistic about Gregors future here and is simply scared.

In the book Metamorphosis the setting we are first met with is his room by himself as the alarm clock. The time for this is 6.45a m. Some note for how room is pretty small as well " the door was made out of wood. As well the author make the room feel like a empty shell. Most of the time Gregor is in his bed trying to figure out how to get out of the bed without getting hurt with his new look
(Part 2)
In the book Metamorphosis the setting we first are met with Gregor and him looking at the hallway the lamps pallidly. As he still in his room with his damage legs as the whole house is quite.

(Part 3)
In the book Metamorphosis the setting of this part of this part .

In The Metamorphosis by Gregor Samsa in the first chapter, Grete seems like a very emotional person because in page 17 it says "Why didn't the sister go and join the others?... And why was she crying?... Because he was in danger of losing his job." I feel like this part of the book shows that Grete is an emotional person and also that she is empathetic to what is happening to Gregor. I also think that Grete is a persuasive person because in page 22 it says "If only his sister was here! She was clever... She would have closed the parlor door and and talked him out of his fears in the hallway." This shows that based off what Gregor knows about Grete, Grete would be a great person to persuade and is a persuasive person.

In this chapter, Grete shows that she empathizes for Gregor's current situation. In page 26 Grete brings Gregor a variety of foods for Gregor to try out like "old, half rotten vegetables; bones from their supper... a few raisins and almonds; a cheese that two days earlier Gregor would have considered inedible; a dry slice of bread, a slice of bread and butter, and a slice of salted bread and butter." This shows that Grete was caring for Gregor because despite how Gregor is and how scary he may look, Grete still cares for him and wants to make sure that Gregor eats and is comfortable.

Moreover, Gregor becomes depressed and terrified from not connecting with his family and the uncertainty of how he can live on, "In the first two weeks his parents couldn't muster up the courage to come into his room."

In Chapter 2, Gregor is trying to accustom himself to being an insect. However, Gregor struggles with certain difficulties like eating, and often have weird behaviors like crawling on the walls or ceilings. Simply, the conflict in this book is Gregor trying to live normally within his family. His family fears him and his sister is a helpful person, but even she has disgust within her own brother. The conflict arises further when his father tries to kill him, "with her hands behind the father's head, she begged him to spare Gregor's life." On the last page of the chapter, Gregor father attempts to murder Gregor with a nerf blaster while the mother ran over begging to spare Gregor's life. Gregor is not accepted within his on family and is unable to turn back into a human.

She changes from the caring person she was to a person who believes Gregor is in the way and wants to get rid of him. In page 42 in the third chapter Grete is "worn out by her job," she "had grown tired of caring for Gregor as before". Grete went from the caring person she was in the second chapter wanting to make sure Gregor is well fed to not caring anymore. Later on in the chapter Grete even brings up the idea of getting rid of Gregor, that "[they] have to get rid of it." Grete didn't even look at Gregor as a human anymore and wanted him gone. This chapter is when Grete changes from the caring person she was to Gregor, to know to someone who wants to get rid of his own brother.

As the story wraps up. Gregor injured from his apples, starts to wonder and feel guilty for his family's financial situations. Gregor's favorite spot, the window will now become Gregor's grave as he would decide to starve himself. "If he understood us, repeated his father, and closing hs eyes, absorbed in his own mind he sister's conviction of that impossibility, then perhaps we could reach an agreement with him", "Yes, he hadn't been eating anything for so long." Clearly, The conflict in chapter 3 was Gregor begin to realize he was not accepted in his own family. He felt as he was a burden to his families happiness. Thus Gregor, decided to starve himself to let his family go of him. Sometimes Gregor wished he could turn back into a human and begin working, so he doesn't see his family struggling financially. Ultimately, Gregor dies by the window as the text clearly says he starved himself. His father is also partially responsible for the death, as a piece of apple had damaged Gregor. Finally, the now arising conflict is knowing how the family is going to cope with Gregor's death.

Gregor becomes forgotten by his family as "they had grown accustomed to put in his rooms things there was no space for elsewhere," not considering how Gregor felt about the constant invasion of his room. Moreover, the chapter begins to conclude by explaining Gregor's slow death as, "he could no longer move at all," until his eventual passing as his family, " stood around Gregor's corpse." Gregor's inability to speak along with the transformation itself was the cause of his death.

Ch 1. In the book metamorphosis Mr. Samsa is shown as someone who is normally calm and collected person who likes to leisurely spend his time eating breakfast. This only changes when he believes someone like his wife is in danger and tries to help them such as the time he hissed and stomped his feet at Gregor so he wouldn't scare her anymore, the only person he wouldn't do this would Gregor as its shown he is indifferent to him.

Ch 2. As the story continues Mr. Samsa's character further develops as he's portrayed to be a deadbeat since instead of helping Gregor to pay his own debt and provide for the Family Gregor is instead forced to do both. It's also shown how Mr. Samsa could be cruel as he throws apples at his son with the intent of killing him even after all the things he has done for the family.

Ch 3. Unlike in Chapter 2 Mr. Samsa is shown to be hardworking as he starts to work to provide for the family due to Gregor's absence, along with this Mr. Samsa is shown to be more harsh and crueler finally being fed up with Gregor's transformation and keep insisting on getting rid of him which eventually rubs off on Grete as well.
