Old-Earth scientists believe that there were 5 big Ice ages.They say that they were caused by the cooling of the Earth, apparently the first one was billions of years ago! The ice ages were so intense and powerful that people believe that they made ice sheets that went from the poles to the equator. These events were called "Snowball Earths" because the Earth looked like a giant snowball with all of the snow covering it. The last ice age began 2.8 Billion years ago. Most famous animals like the mammoth and the Saber tooth tiger died out at these times. Of course we Christians believe that the time line of these events aren't accurate, the Earth isn't that old, this is what the secular scientists believe.

In 1755, a philosopher that went by the name Immanuel Kant said that he believed that our solar system and all of the planets inside of it formed over a long period of time from a cloud of gas and dust called a nebula. At the center of a stellar disk, extremely dense dust and gas started to form. This led to immense pressure that ended up forming a star. Venus poses a problem for the nebular hypothesis because it rotates backwards while it should be rotating forwards, synchronized with the nebular hypothesis.

In Genesis 1 it says the earth was created before the sun and stars, but the old earth theory says the sun and stars were created before. Genesis also says that after the earth was created it was 2 days before God created the sun and stars. The old earth theory says that after the sun was created there was a gap of about 300 million years till the earth was created.

Naturalists claim that there was some sort of major powerful event such as an exploding star or a high intensity ultraviolet energy from a nearby hot-star. Since this happened, the force of the gravity continued pulling the matter together, resulting in the making of a stellar disk. At the center of the stellar disk, the gas and dust started to become extremely dense. This led to immense pressure that ended up forming a star. This is called the Nebular Hypothesis. Venus poses a problem for the nebular hypothesis because it rotates backwards while it should be rotating forwards, synchronized with the nebular hypothesis.

Scientists believe that the gases from the collision created the atmosphere. The problem with that is those gases were poisonous and lacked oxygen. This would not allow water or life to exist.

They believe that since there isn't enough gravity in the solar system to have formed the sun and planets from nebular dust, that there must be a supernova. This is a high energy star emission which would have kick-started the process of an old earth, but there are some problems with this. The main problem is the geologic columns.

With an old earth we would expect to see weathered and eroded layers, so when the flood comes you wouldn't see thick, horizontal layers. But that is exactly what we see. Also the way they date the geologic columns is a problem. We don't know if the radioactive atoms decayed at the same rate they do today.
We don't have to give a natural explanation for creation because ultimately everything comes from God.

We do not need evidence other than the Bible because it holds the true creation account and the evolutionists either do not want to accept the truth or they just don't know it so they come up with stuff to fit what they believe happened.
