I love musicals ever since, and "The Challenge" by Epic sent shivers down my spine the very first time I listened to it. The strength and intensity of the music were something that strongly appealed to me, and you could feel that you're set for anything. My favorite is <Cause I'd rather die, than grow old without the best of you!> because it is about the stubborn will to never compromise and always strive for greatness like It's all about pushing through the toughest challenges and leaving everything on the table, no matter what the odds are. The music gets you pumped up and feeling invincible, like you can conquer any challenge in your path so yeah each time I listen to it, it reminds me to continue doing my best and never let fear stand in my way.

I listen to "Tightrope" because it makes me remember that life is about balance, even when you don't know what's going to happen. The song is encouraging, reminding you that even when you're on a tightrope, you can continue moving forward with faith since it's about being yourself, regardless of what difficulties or doubts you encounter so yeah this song inspires me to go through difficult times head on and continue striving, even when it seems like everything is in the air.

I'm so so so obsessed to "Defying Gravity" because it's all about overcoming boundaries and being your best self by trying and the song is just so motivational especially how they both sang it like their voices blended really well, and to move on its reminding me that I'm capable of overcoming anything that's holding me back so each time I hear it, it encourages me to dream big and not allow fear to keep me from going after what I desire. It's the ideal anthem for anyone willing to defy the odds and reach higher.

I always wanted a Brother

I adore Mufasa this film blows my mind brings back memories, and I Always Wanted a Brother is my favorite tune in it. The song speaks to me because it's all about the deep connection between siblings and defending one another. My favorite line is, <What did you say 'bout my brother? That's not a stray, that's my brother. You stay away from my brother 'cause I say so.> It is very meaningful to me because I have a 9 year old brother who's been bullied because he can't speak Tagalog correctly, as he was raised speaking English. Whenever I hear this line, I imagine myself safeguarding him like the guy in the song. It reminds me of how much we should defend and uphold those that we care for regardless of what other people might say. Seeing this scene, I felt I could stand up for my brother similarly by asking the bullies to leave him alone. It makes me proud to have such a strong connection with him and to always have his back. This song really resonates with me because it shows that family is everything, and we’ll always fight for each other.

Mamma Mia

My mom used to always play ABBA music when I was 5 because she is a fan of them and I hated it before because I believed if I listened to it, it would be for old people, and I never truly gave it an opportunity. During the pandemic, I started to listen to ABBA more often, and I was amazed by how much I enjoyed their songs. The beats were unlike anything I had ever heard before, and it was a welcome change. "Mamma Mia" was soon one of my favorites, partly due to the marimba and guitar, which added a different flavor to the song. The way the instruments blended together created a fun, upbeat sound that I couldn't help but be drawn to. Now I have this entire new love for ABBA, and I am not able to stop hearing their songs.

Too Sweet

I compose poetry because there's something about it that gets you to feel relaxed and whole. Anyways, "Too Sweet" by Hozier sounds like reading a poem, in which you don't only listen to the words but sense their inner meaning. In poetry, it's not ever just "I like you," it's something more of a <his laughter's a light that brightens the day, his passion for life leads him on his way.> Hozier's lyrics are structured like a puzzle, and you have to dig deep to find the meaning, kinda like a game. My interpretation of the song is that there's a girl he has a crush on and she's an up-beat, morning person who feels superior, like chirpy and she scolds him for being up late. He likes to stay up late, work during the night, and live life in a non-traditional way, whereas she's more formal and routine. They know they're not meant to be together now, like the sun and the moon, each on a different path. Even though they can wait for change, he knows he's not going to change, and the relationship must be over, because it will not work in the long run, like he said in the lyrics he'd rather take his whiskey neat and have his coffee black and be bed at three since you're too sweet for me.

I'm a jogger/runner, and I jog each evening, generally for 6 km, but my personal record is 19.4 km, which still isn't good enough for me. Each time I jog, I listen to this song since it somehow increases my energy levels. It seems like someone's pursuing me, which encourages me to jog even faster and more. I love the rhythms, and the words are so inspiring they inspire me to push my boundaries even when it becomes exhausting. It encourages me to just act and continue moving forward, regardless of how challenging things become. This song keeps me inspired and energized, enabling me to achieve new milestones with each run.
